Fairs and festivals of Himachal by month — Kullu Dussehra, Minjar, Lavi, Phulaich and more
How this list is dated
Many of Himachal's fairs follow the lunar calendar or the harvest, so their dates change each year. This page gives a date only where Himachal Tourism, the state's official site, states one, and says "date varies" for the rest. Always check the district administration's notice for the year you plan to go.

Questions people ask
What is the biggest festival in Himachal?
Kullu Dussehra, which begins on Vijayadashami, when Dussehra ends elsewhere, and runs a week at the Dhalpur ground. Himachal Tourism says over 200 village deities attend. The date follows the lunar calendar, so it moves each year; see our Kullu Dussehra guide for the seven days.
Which fairs in Himachal are held in November?
The Lavi fair at Rampur Bushahr, which starts on 11 November and runs three days, and the week-long Renuka fair at Renuka Lake in Sirmaur. Both follow the harvest. Lavi began as a trade fair under a treaty of 1681 between Rampur and Tibet and still sells Kinnauri wool and dry fruit.
What is the Minjar fair in Chamba?
A week-long fair in July or August, when silk tassels appear on the maize, called minjar. The farming community offers the first minjar to the Ravi and prays for a good harvest. A procession and a market on the Chaugan fill the town. Confirm the year's dates locally.
