What is there for kids in Mussoorie?
The cable car up Gun Hill from the Mall, the flower beds and amusement park of Company Bagh, ducks and paddle boats on Mussoorie Lake, and the waterfall and pools at Kempty Falls, all listed on the state's tourism site. Most are within about 12 minutes of the Mall, and Kempty is about 30 minutes.
How do you get to the top of Gun Hill?
By the cable car that climbs from the Mall Road to the summit, as Uttarakhand Tourism describes it, or on foot up the path. The top is the second-highest point around the town, and its name comes from a gun that once marked midday. We have no verified fares or timings.
Is Kempty Falls safe for children?
It can be, with care. The pools at the foot of the falls are popular for bathing and get very crowded in May and June, and wet rocks are slippery. Go on a weekday morning, keep small children within reach, and stay out of the water if the flow is strong after rain.
