What this covers, and what it doesn't

These are typical local-market bands, not fixed prices — everything here is quoted on the day by the person or business providing it, and moves with season and demand. HimLocal has no operator network and arranges nothing directly; this is what to expect when you get there, not a booking.

Where to stay

A guesthouse room in McLeod Ganj itself typically runs ₹1,000–3,500 a night in season. Dharamkot and Bhagsu, a short drive or walk out, run cheaper — roughly ₹600–1,800 — for a quieter stay with the same sights a short ride away.

Getting around

A short taxi hop to Naddi or Dal Lake typically costs ₹300–500 one way. A round trip further out to Kangra Fort or Chamunda Devi Mandir, with the driver waiting through the visit, typically runs ₹1,200–2,000.

The Triund climb

A porter for the Triund climb typically costs ₹800–1,500 per trip, hired locally rather than booked ahead — worth it for most people given the climb's length. Tea stalls partway up charge modestly for water and simple food, cash only.

Getting there and away

An overnight bus from Delhi typically runs ₹700–1,800 depending on operator and seat type, HRTC or private. Flights via Gaggal (Kangra) Airport vary by how far ahead they're booked and are worth checking directly given the limited daily schedule.
