Two days in Rishikesh — the bridges, the ghats and Neelkanth Mahadev
Two days: the town's main river sights on the first, one longer excursion on the second. Day one is the one-day plan with the Ram Jhula added; day two is the temple at Neelkanth Mahadev, which Wikipedia places about 32 km from Rishikesh.
Timing is in when to visit Rishikesh, and the stops are in things to do in Rishikesh.

- We have no verified temple hours or fees; ask in Rishikesh.

Is two days in Rishikesh too long?
Not if you want the Ram Jhula and Neelkanth Mahadev as well as the river sights. Day one is full, with the ashram, two bridges and the aarti, and day two needs a taxi for the 51-minute drive to the temple. If you only want the ashram and the aarti, the one-day plan is enough.
Where should you stay for the night?
In Rishikesh town or near the bridges, which has the most rooms and the cafes. Day two starts at the temple drive, so a room near the town road saves time. We have no verified room rates or ashram booking terms, so ask when you book and confirm how to cross the river.
Can you do day two without a car?
It is harder. Neelkanth Mahadev is about 26 km and 51 minutes from the centre by road on our routing, and Wikipedia puts it 32 km out. We have no verified bus timetable, so a taxi with an agreed waiting time is the practical way, and Wikipedia says crowds gather at Maha Shivaratri and the Shravana fair.
