Questions people ask

How many days are enough for Srinagar, Gulmarg and Pahalgam?

Five is comfortable: two in Srinagar for the gardens, Dal Lake and the old city, one for Gulmarg and its gondola, and two in Pahalgam for the Lidder valley and Aru. With less time, see Gulmarg as a day trip from Srinagar, about 57 minutes away on our routing, and drop Aru.

How far are Gulmarg and Pahalgam from Srinagar?

Gulmarg is about 51 km and 57 minutes from Srinagar on our routing, and Pahalgam about 87 km and 84 minutes; Sonamarg, the other great valley, is about 79 km and 95 minutes. Going from Gulmarg to Pahalgam means driving back through Srinagar, which makes the fourth day a long one.

Is it safe to travel to Kashmir?

Conditions change, so check the current local situation and your own government's travel advice before you go. In April 2025 militants killed tourists in the Baisaran meadow above Pahalgam, Wikipedia records; this plan does not go there. Follow local instructions and keep your plans flexible.
