How many days do you need at Kaziranga?
The Assam Tourism page says two to three days to cover the four main ranges: Central at Kohora, Western at Bagori, Eastern at Agoratoli and Burapahar. This plan takes two of them, the Western and the Central, and adds the Deopahar ruins about 38 km and 31 minutes from Kohora on our routing.
What is the difference between the Central and Western ranges?
The Assam Tourism page says both offer elephant safaris, and all four ranges offer jeep safaris. Wikivoyage recommends doing the Western and Central ranges both by jeep and by elephant, and prefers the Eastern Range for birds. We have no verified timings or fares, so ask at your stay.
Is Deopahar worth the drive?
For people who like ruins, yes. Wikipedia describes a protected archaeological park with a site museum, the remains of an ancient stone temple with sculptures that blend Brahmanical and local art, and an elephant corridor of forest around it. It is about 61.8 km from the park, so make it the end of the second day.
