Can you see Kaziranga in one day?
Yes, in part. A day covers one range, most easily the Central Range at Kohora, about 2 minutes from the town on our routing. The Assam Tourism page says the four main ranges take two to three days, so one day is a taste. Start before sunrise and rest at midday.
Do you need to book the safari in advance?
The Assam Tourism page says elephant safari seats are limited and should be booked in advance, and that jeep safaris are easy to get and need no advance booking. We have no verified timings, fares or rules, and rules change, so ask your stay or the park office before you plan.
What is the best season for the Central Range?
November to April, says the Assam Tourism page, with the best sightseeing from late February to early April. Wikivoyage says winter is good for animals because the grass is burned off, and that the park is closed from May to October because of the floods. Check the dates with the park office.
