Closest to the bus stand
1. Christ Church
About 4 minutes from the bus stand: an Anglican church whose foundation stone was laid in 1844, with a clock tower added in the 1880s. Free to visit, donations welcome. Christ Church.
2. Sunset Point
About 6 minutes out, close enough to walk: a viewpoint with Chandigarh visible on a clear day. Free. Sunset Point.
3. Monkey Point
About 9 minutes out, Kasauli's highest point: a Hanuman temple inside an active Air Force station, tied to a Ramayana legend. Free, but cameras and bags aren't allowed past the gate.
Further out — a second day
4. Dagshai
About 30 minutes from Kasauli: an old cantonment town founded in 1847, with a jail from 1849 now open as a museum. Dagshai.
5. Barog
About 46 minutes out: a hill station settled during the construction of the UNESCO-listed Kalka-Shimla Railway. Barog.
