Two days in Kalpa — the range, the fort tower and Reckong Peo
Two days in Kalpa: the old village on day one, with the Kinnaur Kailash range in front of you all afternoon, and Kothi and Reckong Peo on day two. It repeats the Chandika Devi Temple at Kothi from the one-day plan and swaps the first stops for the fort tower. Timing is in when to visit Kalpa, and the stops are listed in things to do in Kalpa.

All Kalpa itineraries →Questions people ask
Is two days in Kalpa too long?
Not if the weather is good. The old village is small, but the range is the reason to stay, and a night lets you see it in both evening and morning light. Without a night, the one-day plan covers the temples and Kothi well enough.
How far is Reckong Peo from Kalpa?
About 9 km by road, roughly 20 minutes by car. Reckong Peo is the district headquarters at 2,290 m, and Kalpa sits above it. Many visitors base in Kalpa for the quiet and go down to Reckong Peo for the market and onward transport.
Where should you stay for this plan?
In Kalpa for both nights. Everything on day one is walkable from the village, and day two starts and ends there, with Kothi and Reckong Peo as a morning drive down the hill and back, so there is no need to move between towns.
