Questions people ask
What is the Narasimha Temple at Bharmour?
A stone tower temple dedicated to Narasimha, also written Narsingh, the man-lion form of Vishnu. It stands beside the Chaurasi temple complex in the centre of Bharmour and is one of the town's main temples, with a carved tower that shows well from the road.
How old is it?
Little is published about its exact age in the sources we use, so we give no date. The Chaurasi complex beside it was built about the 7th century, and the Narasimha temple is one of the temples that surround the main shrine, so it belongs to the same old ensemble.
How far is it from the Chaurasi complex?
About 1 km and 2 minutes from our reference point, and on foot from the courtyard. It stands beside the complex, so the two combine in one walk, and the tower is visible from the lanes around it as you approach through the town.
