By air
Bagdogra airport, near Siliguri in West Bengal, is the nearest, about 133 km and 213 minutes by road. Wikipedia says Pelling has a helipad ground but no regular air service, so helicopters connect it with Gangtok only on request and in an emergency.
By train
The nearest main station is New Jalpaiguri Junction, about 125 km and 209 minutes by road. Siliguri is about 122 km and 205 minutes away on our routing, and Wikipedia gives about 135 km, calling it the nearest railhead.
By road
On our routing Gangtok is about 108 km and 212 minutes away, though Wikipedia gives 115 km in one place and 131 km in another. Darjeeling is about 66 km and 129 minutes, Kalimpong about 83 km and 153 minutes, Namchi about 41 km and 83 minutes and Ravangla about 41 km and 86 minutes. Wikipedia says regular jeeps run from Pelling to Jorethang, Kalimpong and Namchi, and that a regular bus service connects it with Gyalshing, the district town, about 13 minutes away on our routing. From Delhi it is about 1,479 km, with 18 hours of free-flow driving.
