October and November
The clearest weeks. The rains have washed the air, the forest is still green, and from the snow view point near St Mary's Church you may see great peaks such as Chaukhamba on a clear morning.
March to June
Spring is mild and pleasant for walking to Bhulla Tal and along the ridge. Summers stay cool, which is why May and June are the crowded weeks; Wikivoyage warns that rooms are hard to find then.
July to September
Wet and foggy. The forest is at its greenest, but views come and go, and the road up from Kotdwar is slow and can be cut by slips.
December to February
Cold, with snowfall in the winter months. The town under snow is beautiful, but the ridge roads turn slippery; carry warm clothes and check the road.
