About this departure
From the road-head at Barshaini the trail follows the Parvati river through Nakthan village and up a forested gorge with waterfalls, to the open meadow of Kheerganga. At the top is a hot spring, channelled into a bathing pool, with the snow peaks of the Parvati valley around it. Easy enough for most walkers, special enough to remember.

Day-by-day itinerary
- Barshaini → KheergangaAbout 12 km uphill through Nakthan and the gorge, 5–6 hours. Camp in the meadow; the hot spring at dusk.
- Kheerganga → BarshainiSunrise over the Parvati peaks, then down the same way.
