Chandrakhani Pass

About this departure

The trail leaves Rumsu above Naggar through deodar and oak, opens into meadows, and crosses Chandrakhani Pass — a broad ridge marked with standing stones, with the Pir Panjal, Parvati and Bara Bhangal ranges all around. On the far side it drops to Malana, a village known for its own customs: visitors keep to the paths and do not touch its walls or temples.

Day-by-day itinerary

1. Naggar → Rumsu → forest camp
   A drive to Rumsu and a climb through deodar to a meadow camp.
2. Over Chandrakhani Pass
   Up to the stones on the pass, then down the far side to a camp above Malana.
3. Malana → the road
   Through Malana — on its terms — and down to the road for the drive back.
