What it is
Trilokpur Temple is a shrine to the goddess Mahamaya Bala Sundari, built in 1573 by Raja Dip Prakash of Sirmur. It stands on a hillock at about 430 m, on the plains side of Nahan. The name means a triangle of three Shakti temples, each showing a different face of Durga, and the Bala Sundari shrine is the main one.

Getting there
About 45 minutes and 23 km by road from Nahan, near Kala Amb, the gateway to Nahan from Haryana. We have not measured the walk from where you leave the vehicle to the shrine, so allow time for it rather than assuming it is at the door.
The story behind it
According to the temple's legend, in about 1570 a sacred stone, a pindi, appeared in a bag of salt bought by a trader named Ram Dass. The bag stayed full however much he sold, and the goddess then told him in a dream to build a temple. He asked the ruler of Sirmur for funds, and the temple followed in 1573.
